Bridges To Life Update

The Missions Center has decades of ministry in Etowah County, serving for the glory of God and the good of our local community. A few weeks ago, Lance Hughes shared with MeadowBrook more about The Missions Center’s current Bridges to Life campaign.

With the increasing rise in homelessness and unemployment in the Gadsden area, The Missions Center’s mission to meet the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of our community is growing as well. Bridges to Life is a new vision God has given The Missions Center to offer relief and support in times of crisis through a three-step process.

The first step is called Bridge to Hope, where The Missions Center steps in to meet someone in their crisis and offer the assistance they need.

“But we also know that someone in crisis can get stuck in dependency,” says Lance Hughes. “So our second bridge helps with that and is called Bridge to Stability.”

Bridge to Stability offers personal growth steps that can be completed in exchange for points, which can then be redeemed for items the individual needs.

his leads to the final step, Bridge to Opportunity, where The Missions Center connects people with opportunities and resources they can utilize to build a better future.

Ways you can get involved:

  1. Pray for The Missions Center staff and volunteers.
  2. Give. The Missions Center can’t do what it does without the generosity of God’s people.
  3. Volunteer. Even half a day a week can make a huge impact!

“Our biggest prayer is that as people engage with us, they would not just see the love of a community, but the love of Christ coming from His church and His people.” — Lance Hughes
